Even though yesterday was our sleep-in day, I think it was our busiest day yet!
After breakfast and morning watch, we spent about 5 hours on the water, hitting rapids up to class 5! (For those who don't know, rapids are rated up to class 6 based on how dangerous they are.) Because of the size of the boats we split into two groups. Unfortunately only one had the waterproof camera.
Our awesome guides, Andrew and Leah kept us safe, and we didn't have anyone fall in or any rafts flip.
Photos!
There's also going to be some really great videos from that trip after we get home and get plugged in.
After that we learned about the spiritual exercise of Examining, a sort of guided mediation prayer.
Then was time for our final vespers service, which we had planned for the bridge under The Bridge from the first night's Lectio. The only problem was, it was raining off and on all afternoon and evening! Well we were already wet all day; we weren't going to let some moisture deter us. We worshiped in the rain, and it let up before we got to communion!
Oh, and remember our awesome river guide Leah from above?
She joined us! Turns out, because of her work schedule she was unable to attend church all summer and God used us to answer her prayers for a chance to worship with others. We were very blessed to have her with us.
This morning it was time to say farewell to the gorge. Here's some parting views:
Now we are on the road home. We're already in Kirk's home turf, Ohio!
We're on schedule to be home around 7!
